【正文】  摘 要：语料库技术的成熟日新月异，在英语教学中有着非常广泛的作用，本文以英国国家语料库（http://corpus.byu.deu/bnc/）这样的免费大型英语母语语料库为工具，用浅显实例分析说明语料库对外语课堂词语用法和习题编制这两方面的辅助作用。

  Abstract:The technology of corpus as a supplementary tool to the teaching of English has been developing very fast. The paper made a brief introduction of the BNC and its basic contribution to the language teaching,such as the use of vocabulary and the designing of classroom-based quiz.

  一．理论背景：
  英语教学一直以来经历着改革，却似乎进入了教学中的瓶颈期。许多老师都有这样的感触，学生在阅读，听力方面能拿高分，但是在实际运用，比如写作和口语这块分数不尽如人意，其中很大一部分原因是学生不知如何正确使用英美国家学生的表达方式。虽然他们能读懂一般英美主流报刊，但对语言中常用语言单位和语言信息的敏感度比较差。基于这一普遍现象，一些学者提出，可以通过语料库检索英美学生，当地人使用的词汇，词组，表达方式等频率信息，使得教师在教学中，学生在学习中更有效地掌握英语的使用特点。这种教学方法被称为“词汇中心教学法”（the Lexical Approach）和“数据驱动学习”（Data-Driven Learning）。总所周知，词汇是文章的基石，词汇覆盖宏观层面的教学要求也包括实际教学要求。其重要性突显在教师在教学过程中哪些词该教，哪些词的核心用法学生应该掌握。
  真实语言太多太杂，早在1976年，Dave Willis提出“合成教学观”，即把语言各个组成快分别教授，有控制有步骤推进语言教学，学会先掌握小的语言单位合成连续的语言。这种搭积木式的大纲设置旨在研究如何将词汇，短语，习惯性短语，习语，搭配这些基本语言单位排定座次。1990年，Willis基于COBUILD语料库提出，英语中最常用的700词可以覆盖70%的英语文本；最常用的1500词可以覆盖76%的英语文本，最常用的2500词可以覆盖80%的英语文本。Willis基于频率得出的英语常用词作用巨大，给予了教师们教学导向，教学重点可以有的放矢地放在常用搭配和常用词上。
  二．部分基础语料库技术在英语教学中的辅助作用：
  通过基于计算机技术的语料库，提供了大量的本族语者真实例句，通过分析，查找出索引行，概括出相应的典型用法，相比教师苦苦对每个单词分析，将极大的减少备课量。例如，笔者在学生写作过程中发现学生非常喜欢用with the 名词of的结构，尤其搭配with the development of。此种用法符合语法规范，琅琅上口，得到了中国学生的青睐，但是否英美国家学生常用这个介词搭配呢，却是个值得探讨的问题。在这里教师可以利用http://corpus.byu.deu/bnc/这样的免费大型英语母语语料库，对这个“单词项，多语境”问题为例进行分析，搜索with the [nn*] of，按频率高低可以看到：



















  with the [nn*] of结构中，本族语者用得最多的是with the help of，其次是with the exception of,with the rest of, with the aid of, with the aim of,with the idea of等，而被中国学生所青睐的with the development of位列第八，比起1,2,3位with搭配结构，with the development of在频率上也是相差甚远。   
  另外英国国家语料库还提供了简明易懂的Chart浏览模式，即在不同语体中“with the 名词of”结构的分布情况。

  从图2.2可以看到，常见的“with the 名词of”结构出现在学术和非学术文体中的频率都非常的高，主要是因为这种介词搭配的短语即可以很好的传达信息，也可以较好地传递非书面语的感情和人类心理活动。以上分析证明了中国学生在大量写作中使用该结构的合理性。但具体落实到这个结构，不难发现它在报纸，杂志，小说中的比例也是相对高的，符合前面的分析，即能很好的完成学术文体的信息沟通问题，又能较好的起到非学术问题中的情感交流表达，但值得中国学生注意的一点是，它比较少的用于日常口语表达。相应的，教师在教学中可以引导学生归纳出“with the 名词of”结构是比较正规的书面语，在以后的学习，实践中应尽量避免口语中的使用。
  前述的几个短语：with the help of, with the exception of, with the rest of, with the aid of, with the aim of, with the idea of, with the intention of ,with the development of，作为“with the 名词of”这个常用结构最频繁使用的八个短语，教师可以设计成一个练习， 让学生在做题过程中，进一步学习体味这些结构的用法，表义特征，语体倾向等。在学生亲手操作后，比较理想的是教师能做一些引导性总结，对类似结构较易混用的搭配，比如说with the aid of,with help of进行讲解。

  三.总结和展望
  以语料库技术对关键词，搭配，类联结，语义倾向等进行不同分析思路的研究完全是从教学中来，再最好的回到教学中去的最好实践；教师可以借助此类方法进行词汇讲解，写作点评，设计练习和试题，从而科学地，高效地，站在更高的全局观上完成教学任务。但是，语料库技术的运用，不是直接提供软件给学生，而是要引导他们在面对繁杂的自然语言时，尽可能按照实际，通过过滤多余信息，抓主要信息，给学生提供典型性强的实例，注重输入和输出，培养学生分析语言，善于把握语言规律，真正运用好语言的能力。
